FAQs

What do I need a consultation for?

A detailed one-to-one consultation with Ali Bukhari and full assessment of your unique circumstances means you have already taken the biggest step. We understand the every client is as unique as is the case which they bring to us, and therefore, we prepare a detailed breakdown through a one-to-one consultation with you. During this initial consultation, we will ascertain the exact nature of your issue and advise you accordingly on all options available and suggest the best path possible for you.

Who submits the application?

Once all representations have been drafted and double checked we shall submit your completed application to the relevant body -for example, either the Immigration & Asylum Tribunal or The Home Office (UKBA) as well as providing you with a copy also.

What preparation will I need to do?

The pre-application process involves ensuring that we receive the full and necessary documents to strengthen your case. Once you are comfortable with the instructions that you have given us we shall advise you both verbally and in writing as to what documents will be required in support of your application. It is VERY important that you provide these documents as swiftly as possible for your case to progress without delay.

PLEASE NOTE : Applications cannot be sent prematurely. The Home Office will return incomplete applications and we shall have to chase up the outstanding documents from you adding unnecessary delays to your case and undue stress on you.

When will I get a decision?

Once lodged, we await the progress of your application with the deliberating body. And we promise that we will contact you the very same day that we hear from them in regards to your matter. We hope that you understand that at this stage there is nothing more that we can do to speed up the process for you as much as we would wish to. It is frustrating and we do understand this but unfortunately the pace of official procedure is not within our control. It may help to bear in mind that for example, a Standard Court Procedure for Entry Clearance Matters is 18-20weeks (4-5months) for the Home Office to process. Currently we are waiting a minimum of 6-8months for the Home Office to respond due to their backlog in all matters.

What happens once you complete the application?

Once we have completed your application, we will then continue to reinforce your case with supporting legal representations and relevant case law. We take time in our research and consolidating your representations in order to make your case as irrefutable and accurate as possible. At Bukhari Chambers we understand that every effort on our part can determine your entire life and we feel that once we take on a client’s instruction we have a duty to ensure that our client has the best chance of being successful. We know that spending extra time in preparing thorough representations just may 'tip the balance' in your favour

Can you get the court to make a decision faster?

We do not select or influence Court Hearing dates; these can be as soon as 3 days or as late as 3 weeks and will be decided by the availability of The Courts.

Please do not ever feel like you have been forgotten, it can be a long process which requires you to be strong, calm and collected. We will of course, throughout all stages of the decision making process keep you updated and advise you on any further action necessary. We appreciate that this can be a stressful and traumatic time for applicants and we, as compassionate professionals of the highest integrity, hope to provide reassurance and comfort for you whenever you feel unsure.

At Bukhari Chambers we understand that your future and your family’s future is in our hands.
